At Melton Dental Group, we provide you with a range of cosmetic dental treatments to enhance or even transform your smile to a brand new set of pearly whites! There are many ways that your smile can be enhanced or entirely transformed, depending on your individual needs. Let’s take you through what we have to offer you in cosmetic dentistry.

Dental Veneers | Desire a brand new smile?

Dental veneers, also known as porcelain veneers are thin shells of layered porcelain, that are hand-crafted and custom designed for your teeth alone to enhance their shape, color, size and to completely mask any minor misalignment and imperfections your teeth may have.

How does one know they are a good candidate for dental veneers? When you visit for your initial consultation, we take digital images and discuss in detail what about your smile you would like to have altered. We use a 3D scanner to assess all dimensions of your teeth, study their shape, size and also their relationship with your gums.

Once we have a detailed image of your mouth, we are able to design your smile on a smile design software with the help of our highly experienced cosmetic dentists. The color of the veneers is decided with you using a simulated shade-guide so that you like the final shade and know what looks natural with your overall appearance!

After digitally designing your custom veneers and showing you your future smile, we then begin the process of preparing your teeth for the veneers in the subsequent visit, which involves removing a minimally thin layer of 0.3-0.7mm of your enamel surface, to allow space for the veneers to fit naturally. and resume their function of serving as your brand new teeth!

Teeth whitening | Wishing to brighten up your smile?

We love whitening teeth at Melton Dental Group, as it brings such a quick boost in confidence for our patients! If you have dull, yellow or discolored teeth, teeth whitening at Melton Dental Group could be exactly what you need to bring the brightness back to your smile, leaving you smiling confidently all day!

There can be many reasons for discolored teeth, such as smoking, drinking deeply colored beverages such as coffee, red wine, consumption of long-term antibiotics and aging. Any of these could darken your tooth shade and dampen your confidence when you speak or smile.

After your initial consultation with our cosmetic dentistry experts, we set a date for your whitening and carry out all necessary cleanings and gum treatments should you require them beforehand. Old fillings don’t change color, hence may also require replacement once the treatment is completed.

The process of in-office teeth whitening is quite simple and we use ZOOM! Tooth whitening kits professionally at Melton Dental Group. During the bleaching process, we isolate your gums and lips to protect them from the bleaching agent, leaving only the teeth exposed. We then apply the bleach gel directly onto the tooth surfaces that require whitening. An LED blue light is then placed in front of your teeth to ‘activate’ the bleaching agents in the gel to start whitening your teeth. The whole process is over in an hour and you leave with 2-6 shades brighter, whiter and shinier teeth than before!

To keep your whitening lasting longer, we also provide you with custom made trays for your teeth after taking an impression, and providing less concentrated bleach that you can use at home for two weeks post in-office whitening treatment. This greatly improves the longevity of your whitening treatment and can be done for an hour every day at your convenience!

Gummy Smiles | Is your smile too ‘Gummy’?

Gummy smiles can be a great cause of embarrassment for some, as when you smile, a large level of the gums show and may look esthetically unpleasant. This occurs due to either the lip level being raised higher than normal while smiling or the gum level being lower than desirable, covering the tooth surfaces and making them appear smaller in relationship to the gums when smiling.

For any reason, gummy smiles hinder confidence levels and may prevent you from smiling freely and confidently, which we definitely don’t want for you to face when you visit us at Melton Dental Group!

We have an expert team of specialists who can perform gum reduction surgery either surgically or with a laser, depending on your individual needs! The gums are simply reshaped or reduced with immense precision to expose more tooth surface and enhance the appearance of your smile! There is a short healing time after surgery, but the results are permanent and absolutely life-changing!

Another way of treating a gummy smile at Melton Dental Group is to have botox injections, to reduce the activity in your smile muscles when you laugh or smile wide. The results are very subtle, and simply causes your lip to relax when you smile, hiding your gums further and reducing the overall appearance of your gummy smile!
