Inlays are used to repair moderately damaged back teeth whilst Onlays are used for more extensive repair that involves the covering of damaged tooth cusps. Teeth that are heavily filled with large silver fillings are at risk of fracturing. These can be rebuilt with highly glazed, colour matched porcelain Inlays/Onlays preserving the remaining healthy tooth structure and enhancing their appearance. Inlay and Onlays are durable and may last for longer than 10 years, provided that good oral hygiene is maintained.
