Dental Crowns

They are indicated when the teeth are heavily filled, cracked or root canal treated.  They are also used for aesthetic reasons to change the shape and colour of the teeth. There is a wide variety of material used to fabricate dental crowns:

  • Gold Crown
  • Metal fused to a porcelain shell- the metal is virtually invisible once the crown is cemented in place.
  • ALL porcelain (ceramic)- these are the best choice for a natural cosmetic look.

Provided you have good oral hygiene and well maintained, regularly checked teeth, dental crowns may last on average 8 to 12 years.
